Riley Meredith split a stump in two in England, T20 Blast, Somerset v Essex, results, fixtures, video, highlights

Fast bowlers are supposed to rattle the stumps but Australian quick Riley Meredith went a step further in the T20 Blast in England in scenes rarely seen before.

Bowling for Somerset against Essex at Taunton, a searing delivery from Meredith to opener Michael Pepper not only rattled the stumps, it split one in half.

While one half of the stump stayed stuck in the ground, the other provided a solid piece of memorabilia for Meredith who raced down the pitch, all smiles, and picked it up, wielding it like a trophy.
